In view of the severe impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Government has launched the sixth round of the Anti-epidemic Fund among which financial support will be provided to the passenger transport trades.

Under the sixth round of the Anit-epidemic Fund, the Government will provide a one-off non-accountable subsidy of HK$30,000 for each eligible taxi and red minibus.

The eligibility criteria for the One-off Subsidy are:

(i)  Registered owners who hold a valid vehicle licence of their taxis or red minibuses as at day-end of 15 February 2022.
(ii)  Registered owners who do not hold a valid vehicle licence of the taxis or red minibuses as at day-end of 15 February 2022, but the vehicle licence has been renewed (by the same registered owners) on or before 14 February 2023.

Note: Under the sixth round of the Anti-epidemic Fund, the subsidy will be provided to each licensed taxi and red minibus once only.

Eligible registered owners who have received the letters can submit registration through computer or smartphone starting from 9:00 a.m. on 1 April 2022. The deadline for registration is 11.59 p.m. on 31 May 2023.

The Transport Department will issue letters to inform all eligible registered owners of taxis and/or red minibuses of the detailed registration arrangements for the subsidy through an electronic platform.

Eligible registered owner of taxi and/or red minibus has to make use of the government online system (https://www.gov.hk/oneoffsubsidy) for registration before 11.59 p.m. on 31 May 2023, by providing the one-time 6-digit registration PIN printed on the notification letter issued by the Transport Department, particulars of the vehicle owner and the vehicle, local bank account particulars and channel for payment notification, and finally confirming the registration details.

After submission of all the information required in the registration, a Registration Reference Number will be issued and displayed on screen instantly for future enquiries.

After receipt of the registration and completion of checking by the Transport Department, the subsidy will be disbursed to the designated local bank account provided in the registration through autopay in about one to two months. After disbursement of the subsidy, remittance advice will be provided according to the channel (by email or SMS) selected during the registration.

Please click this link to Online Tutorial for the details of registration steps.

Note: If you own eligible taxi(s) and red minibus(es) at the same time, you just have to submit ONE registration for all your concerned taxi(s) and red minibus(es).

To facilitate the eligible registered owner to submit registration, only the information of any one of the eligible vehicles is required in order to verify his identity. The Transport Department will disburse the subsidy for all eligible vehicles to the vehicle owner in one-go according to the record.

For example, if the registered owner owns two eligible taxi(s) and/or red minibus(es), the vehicle owner is only required to provide the information of any one of the eligible taxi(s) or red minibus(es).
